In Response To: Re: Halo tools to be windows only? (Mark Levin) > It's possible that Bungie already has the Mac tools, and is
True true... though if I am remembering everything correctly, Halo as an engine was originally designed to be the successor to myth II. Hence, Bungie may have been using updated versions of Fear & loathing (alongside tools such as 3DSMax and Photoshop of course) to make the content we've already seen. I think I should have made my original point a bit clearer... While I have absolutely NO problems with bungie making windows versions of their tools (the more mods the merrier), writing them from the ground up in MFC may prove to be quite the conundrum for Tamte's porting company. Westlake interactive has said Many Many times that the reason UnrealED hasn't been ported to the mac is because of it's extensive use of MFC. Q3Radiant also uses MFC (although I believe id _is_ porting it to OSX... which may mean that MFC->OSX conversion is substantially easier than MFC->MacOS). By the way Louis... thank you for making note of my original post on the front page. I'm really hoping to get some Bungie Clarification on this one :-).
