In Response To: Re: Is that a gun... (Louis Wu)

I though at first it was going to be NT, and confusingly left it indicated as being so after I made the remark :) Do you read *every* post?

Our first glimpse of the "Cov Jeep" was is the PC Gamer shots/scans. It had it occured to me in the past to consider how the rest of the Cov hardware was going to work, as a race with anti-grav tech has a lot options and fairly big edge on physical-contact only tech like the humans in the game seem to have. Seperate, hovering components is pretty straight forward... imagine vehicles with spherical cockpits completely suspended away from the main body of the craft, allowing it to turn and rotate to better take acceleration from turns, etc. Spherical wheels are also an interesting possibility, though moot in relation to anti-grav tech of the Cov's variety.(Spherical wheels are possible now with only our current magnetic skills.)

My guess would be the gunner cockpit descends to ground level so a gunner can hop in. I hope it just falls and bounces around when the craft's power source is disabled. No reason not believe this will be the case. :)

I am *very* interested to see the interfaces for first-person combat in the Cov vehichles, as they seem to rely on screens or direct mind-machine interaction for controling the vehicles. Not this really makes a difference, but could be a good place to put the extra Microsoft bucks. This is the biggest direct benefit to Halo... greatly increased budget for concept and art in the areas that could have been left out entirely as to not have these areas appear "half ass". I would be very surprised if Halo did not include things like deployable munitions and sensors ala Tribes with this big cash infusion into the project.

I just hope Halo 2 is a fully peristant online ring for us to discover. If they don't do it, I will damnit! :)
