Or does the one that removes it have to be a : reclaimer? It seems to be keyed to Reclaimers only. 343GS couldn't retrieve it himself in H1; Gravemind sent the Chief and the Arbiter to find it instead of dispatching Flood; Tartarus waited for Miranda to take it rather than touching it himself (it seems clear to me from the cutscene that he was waiting in the wings the whole time). I wonder whether it has a nasty surprise for other species that touch it, or whether it just refuses to come out?
