: This I completely disagree with. Watching someone die in a videogame, or
: movie for that matter, is absolutely nothing like seeing someone die in
: combat in real life. I, not being old enough to have been in combat, have
: never witnessed someone die, and I hope that I never do. But I can still
: say, that it would be a completely different experience. In a videogame,
: you feel nothing for the person who just died, because he's a videogame
: character. Watching someone you know get injured or die in war is most
: definitaly a completely different, and more horrible, an experience. I
: can't believe you would suggest such a thing as that watching someone die
: in a videogame will help you cope with death on the battlefield.

Wanna bet? Well I've seen people get blown apart up close (although it was a gang fight) and I can tell you, it is only a bit different. Especially if you are barely 10 years old and being forced to pull the trigger on someone yourself.

The only difference I see is the being hit by whatever blood spray there is.

Then again it is a matter of whether or not you care for that video game character. Like myself. In Halo or Halo 2, if a marine dies I get pissed to say the least. Why? Because it was not me that bought the farm. My soldiers are the ones that need to carry on the good fight. Everyone must make it home.

Sure I know I can come back to life, but still I'd rather be the sacrifice for the cause and not them.

Ugh now I'm just rambling. Time to stop.

Project ODST, come check it out
