In Response To: Legendary Observations (very long, minor *SP*) (mike miller) Wow, I have to say that I agree with you in every aspect of your review Mike. My complaints though: I hate being forced to snipe. In the first game I avoided that gun at all costs except Truth and Recon. Now though, there are parts where you pretty much have to snipe to counter those darn Beam Rifle toting girly jackals. Or there are parts where they don't allow you to get close and are forced to snipe, which reduces the variety in which you can handle situations. Also, I was disappointed with the dual wielding, you just can't use certain guns combinations on Legendary, which again reduces the variety of tactics you can use on certain parts of the game. It seems that, gameplay wise, they focused more on the multiplayer aspect of the game in regards to dual wielding, which works like a charm against other MC's. It also seems that on Legendary, the AI isn't too much smarter, they're just cheaply stronger. They don't use more tactics on you than on Heroic or Normal. They just take a beating like nothing and shoot the crap out of you. Elites are almost oblivious to plasma grenades and charged up PP this time around. Sorry, but those are the the problems I had with the game. Everything else is spot on, the gameplay is just different than Halo 1, as Mike stated in the beginning of his observations. In the first game, I loved the one player experience more than the multiplayer. Now though, I'm sorry to say, but I like the multiplayer experience better than campaign, which is very disappointing to me. Then again, It hasn't been out even a month yet. Gotta let it grow on me, get accustomed to the feel and learn all the idiosyncrasies. Great observations Mike, your thoughts are definitely credible in my book. |
