Mike, generally great post. I do disagree on a couple of points though. Mostly on the bosses. I agreed with most that the lack of boss battles in Halo 1 was great. What I like about Halo 2 is how well boss battles were done, well with the exception of tarturus. The First boss you fight is the heretic, who is basically an assault of three jetpack elites, with a focus on one. I found the dodging and cover strategy tactics really enjoyable. The next boss was Regret, which was just a fun battle. Fend off elites, then basically jump on and wack him. Neither of those drew me out of the game the way most boss battles do.

The final boss on the other hand... His shield made no sense. The only thing that could bring it down was johnson? hmmm? Then the ledges ruined the flow of battle. Blah.

I also think the jackal snipers were excessive. Which surprised me, sine Jason Jones said during the development of halo 1 that walking into a room and getting sniped isn't fun. Watching your friend get sniped, then taking care of business is. What happened to that?
