In Response To: Expensive "hobby" (3Suns) Just to let you know Max is about $180 for a 1yr license($600 for an unlimited) and I'm pretty sure when bought in bulk you can get a discount. This is all educational pricing In addition to that you can get a free 30 day trial of max that is apparently fully featured. The only problem is that it is Max 6 I was actually just going to explore a bit and see if somebody could confirm that the plugin works with Max 6 before your post sidetracked me. One final note, 3DStudio is only required for the export, you can do the majority of the work for a map using gMax and export it to M3D format using a plugin and then export it to another format readable by max using Milkshape. My experience is that you may then have to tweak things, but it might allow for more efficient usage of the 30 day trial, IE: all machines in the lab have gMax, and one has the 30 day trial version, every 30 days you just reinstall the trial version on a different machine. Anyway good luck.
