I'll certainly think about that; I'll probably do it in Java 1.1, since it has some nice features that Java 1.0 does not have, and since Java 2 is not widely supported.

There are several parts to this task:

* Deriving the differential equations to be solved

* Writing a differential-equation solver with smart stepsize adjustment

* Creating a user interface

* Rendering the rotating Halo object

The user interface will feature both text fields for entering numerical data and mouse-drag rotation, the latter in analogy with Apple's QD3D viewer.
