Question for Matt on gore... | |

In Response To: Re: Question... (Halo Related, don't worry) (Jagu) I always thought Myth was pretty gory for an RTS kind of game. The charred bloodied earth was one of my favorite parts of LMOTH... Anyway, I do recall some prominent schmoe(for lack of his real name) at Bungie saying that they liked realistic violence in their games. His reasoning was that he wanted his own child to know that if he blew up there would be a bloody mess and not some magical sparkly poof(NOT the Rupaul(sp?) variety). I tend to agree, but I did find SOF particularly nasty. Maybe it depnds on the games context. It occurs to me that I could be totally wrong. Although there are blood-stains, I think Oni displays a magical sparkly poof evertime a punch lands. I dunno maybe it's static electricity ;) Hey Matt, you're "some prominent schmoe", right? Does Bungie have an official policy on game violence? -Oddot, whos a little put off he has something usefull to say about stan(OT)'s post :P
