In Response To: Cryptic messages and the PoA (long) (Cannibal Harry =PN=) Ya know, I was just about to post something vaguely like this - but obviously I hadn't had enough of 'da pipe' since I hadn't figured out even half of what you did. However, two points that are interesting: "... He says I came not to send Peace but a Sword ..." This is not only a Cortana reference, but also a Jesus reference! It's cool that Cortana is sending religious messages from its own history back to the Covenant - and yes, as you said, it sure pisses them off! (New pastime while waiting for Halo to come out: find appropriate bits of scripture with which to taunt the Covenant - "He will repay them for their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness" (Psalms 94.23)) And, hmmm, a sword... like, I dunno, a sword with a name, like, oh, Durandal? Second point - what does "Pillar of Autumn" mean anyways? Maybe I'm in a Biblical mood (which doesn't happen that often), but I can only think of the Pillar of Smoke/Pillar of Fire during the Exodus - or Lot's wife. Any thoughts - or have I missed a whole thread somewhere? Cheers, AJLB |
