| In Response To: Re: role play (Johannes Gunnar) This isn't so much a question of years vs. months, but months vs. weeks. It would take me longer to compile and organize the information into "basic set" and "add-ons" than it would to just get it online in its current form. (Because I've already written it, I just need to proofread.) Really, the reasons that this is taking a long time are several: 1) I've been working 14 hour days (in the real world) the last week or so, 2) I've been working on a very classy campaign for my roleplaying group, which is both more immediate and considerably larger than the collective Marathon gaming community--sad but true :-), and 3) I'm actually proofreading the book, which, while rather time-consuming, is a requirement for readability as well as playability. Incidentally, I added part of Chapter 4 today. It features racial templates, which, it seems to me, are part of what you were looking forward to. I realize that for basic dungeon-style roleplaying what I have online already is not terribly useful, but from the perspective of really advanced, in-depth roleplaying, desiging star systems, writing out the background, etc. is actually a considerably bigger step than writing down stats for guns. Just for perspective, I have the equivalent of about 60 printed pages (10 point type, single-spaced, 8.5" x 11" book style) online already. In a related note, sometime in the not-so-distant future, I'll be looking for people to playtest GURPS Marathon with their own gaming groups. If anyone on this forum is interested, please post here.
