So the plot was patched in a hurry with these generic : hispanic explorers and the ornate glass vial. And let us not forget the "strange statuette" of a "humanoid figure bending over something you don't quite recognize"... as if it were from an old dream. The shimmering brass hoop that you can pass your hand through but "does not appear on the other side". The "opal bracelet" with "intricate carvings circling the band" that "have long since been rubbed away into obscurity" which was "slightly warm to the touch". and... and... the "Staff of Malebranche".
