| In Response To: Cubans (Mark Levin)
I thing these so-called cubans were most likely Mexican's or Guatamalans. there really isn't any hard evidence to suggest otherwise. I think Javier's story of the old man clinches it, that these men were local.
Nothing is said concerning Castro or any agenda other than personal gain for the 6 or 8 men who undertook the expedition. I know that Cuba and the Yucatan seem close, but it's still 150 miles of water between the two. That's a pretty long and dangerous trip if you're going by your own accord, and looking for something that may be the delusions of a crazy old man.
It is possible that the old man moved from Mexicao to Cuba. In 1953 he might have tagged along with Che and Castro when they went to Cuba and took down Batista. But that's stretching it.
Then their's also the Russian AK-47's and the Cuban-made Gas masks. First off, the AK-47 is a widely used assault rifle, and I doebt they have 5 day waiting periods in Mexico. And as for the gas Mask, well, driving a Mitsubishi doesn't exactly make you Japanese.
