well, why not? the problem in akira is that the expansion has not been fully understood (neither in the manga nor in the anime), they just know it does expand, but they (i.e. the host, the scientists and the colonel) do not know how to control it. plus, it is provoked from the exterior and is more or less forced upon the hosts (tetsuo's powers for example are awakened by the collision with the other guy, number 26?), whereas computers - as far as I can tell - can choose to get rampant or not. ok, i admit that my theory has no proof whatsoever, so don't go blabbing it to everyone you know, right? btw: i'm swiss, so my english isn't that good either. try to ignore my mistakes, see them like d. adams (may he rest in peace) stated the POP-field (problems of other people). well, so long
