In Response To: Re: Are there even timelines at all? (Philtron) : How did Durandal survive in M2 again? Pretty sure Durandal himself officially handwaved this. My best guess is he uploaded himself to the SO's brain before the SO "killed" him, and that's why you see a secret Durandal terminal foreshadowing his return. : What makes you think Durandal can't win without the S'pht'kr? : I really don't see any way of reading Ne Cede Malis except as Durandal
But they fired the Trih Xeem, which is awakening the w'rkncacncter, and Durandal is in despair over it. It's a pyrrhic victory, if anything, but even in the M2 ending, the pfhor aren't really defeated until the humans and s'pht drop bombs on their homeworld far in the future, and Durandal himself doesn't finally "win" until he comes back in that Jjarro dreadnaught some 8,000 years later. You saying Durandal beat the pfhor in the Ne Cede Malis timeline is like saying we beat the pfhor in Ingue Ferroque; we only won the battle (and beat the game), but did not win the war. More forces came and sacked Tau Ceti later.
