![]() | In Response To: Re: Marathon Infinity: the Story: the Intro (General-RADIX) Bungie went to a lot of effort to remove non-diegetic abstractions, going as far as to make the act of saving canon with the pattern buffers (don't question how they work). Even M1's HUD itself that took up 75% of the screen looked like what the SO sees behind the visor. M2 even removed music for the sake of immersion by removing that nondiegetic feature. I do interpret the dream levels as something the SO experiences, but in the same way we experience dreams; a bunch of nonsense that didn't really happen we saw in our sleep and then promptly forgot about when we wake up.
