PID's bad GUI is why I set both my emulator and physical Mac backgrounds to plain black: it's a survival horror FPS RPG, I like to play this in a dark room at night so I can get immersed in it. Having a bright and colorful background that my eyes can't adjust to around the action gets in the way of that, whether its a horror game I'm playing or not.
Fullscreen doesn't have that problem.
