Well, I think Pfhor are insects, reptiles and possibly birds from aggregate to Command with the better evolved starting at higher ranks since they should be smarter.

Perhaps their reproductive systems either use eggs or they give birth early and grow their young inside the egg shaped pods like jellyfish young becoming polyps, or xenomorphic changelings in their toxic jam pods.

since Bungie aren't saying, the world may never know.
