Now, about Durandal and Leela, we don't actually know that Durandal wasn't interested in Leela. Remember, Marathon Infinity isn't a sequel to M2: it's really just us reliving different timelines that are supposed to be like modified versions of the M2 timeline. Even so, Infinity never rules out the possibility of Durandal going to save Leela later on, and neither does M2.
Durandal just has bigger fish to fry. Once he deals with Lh'owon and perhaps some other things, then maybe he rescues Leela, maybe even with the Security Officer's help. Now, you might say "Yes, but M2's Final Screen never mentions Durandal rescuing Leela." That's true, but it never rules out Durandal rescuing Leela either.
Now, on the other hand, whether or not Leela matters to Durandal, maybe he just wants Vylae tech? Maybe that's what Tycho was trying to hide from Durandal? Just a thought.
