In Response To: Durandal & Tycho's Knowledge of Leela & the Vylae (PerseusSpartacus) : But, assuming the phrase "alien
That raises an interesting question: do the Pfhor actually know she ended up with the Vylae? The end screen makes it sound like the Pfhor lost track of the ship after the Nar raid ("never seen by the Pfhor again"), before the Vylae got involved. Of course, Leela eventually goes down in rampancy history, but do we have any timeline for her installation in the Vylae network? She may still be sitting in some scrap merchant's warehouse at the time of Requiem for a Cyborg. The specificity of "homeworld" is a great bit of intrigue: does Durandal believe that she's on the Pfhor homeworld? Does he know she's missing, and he's just teasing us with a wild-goose-chase rescue mission? Or does he actually know where she ended up? That word "homeworld" sure is popular. Two levels earlier, in a similar classified-ad parody, Durandal used it to refer to Lh'owon itself. If we'd been less cooperative, might Durandal have tried a different story on us: that Leela was in fact brought here, and activating Thoth could help her somehow?
