I don't know if it was the very first time I had heard of the game, but late in 1994, I managed to download the Marathon demo using my father's Color Classic... to find that the demo wouldn't play on it. It was a little while before we could move the files over to the family's upgraded LC II, which could just barely handle the game... we wound up getting the full version a few months later.
