My point was that they have specifically said (heavily paraphrasing) "a lot of what you think you've discovered, you just made up. We like secrets and crap but we're not all THAT crazy."
If they were doing what you say they're doing, they wouldn't have said that. (It would serve the opposite end of what you purport them to be trying to do). But they did say that. Therefore, they're not doing what you claim.

There are answers to those basic questions, which have been known for most of those ten years. They're not hard to find unless you have a complete inability to grasp time-travel stories at all.
Marathon 1 happens. Marathon 2 happens. Then, for unspecified reasons and by unspecified means (this is what we still have room to speculate on), the player jumps back in time to alternate timelines, which lead toward similar failures as happened in Marathon 2 (the release of the W'rkncacnter), until he finally ends up with a timeline where that event is prevented. If you want more specific plot details of the various alternate timelines, play the damn game again. Once you get that time-travel is happening and where (the Electric Sheep levels and the subsequent 'dream' levels), the rest of it should be obvious.

Do you demand that of all stories? Demand that, in addition to their chosen presentation of the story, they must also provide a Cliff Notes plot summary in 6th-grade language, otherwise there is no "true" plot to the story? Was there no true plot to the Lord of the Rings until the Silmariion and all the Lost Tales and other unfinished works were released, many decades later? Or are you just making an exception for Infinity because you find it difficult to understand and/or want to belittle the discussion of it that takes place here?
