Hah! Touché! :-) Did I miss the memo about 20-bit audio being added to UT? :-)

Let me put it another way... the distinctiveness of a sound is very much based on the original device (or source) that the audio was/is created from, and can be amplified and enhanced to a great degree. Unlike a texture, where you can visually recreate it (and/or make a better one from scratch) with tools that may be completely different than the original... it is much more difficult to this with audio if you do not have the source material or instruments. This is why no matter how hard you try to recreate a string section by purely electronic means, it still does not sound like a string section.
