(This is not directed at you Steve, just tagging this post to end of this thread) When you witness fans of one game getting into a small scuffle over something as inconsequential as who has the bigger ePenis, is it any wonder really to see folks ignoring in a wide swath a game that is years old and was made for an already embattled platform? It's the same social mechanism at work. I feel bad when I see that folks never had a chance to try the game, but I won't sit wondering 'why?' That's too obvious a question. Some things just are the way they are. Best to move forward then try to force folks to see things the way you see it. Let me put it in this context: Let's say someone unearths a C64 or Atari 800 game that did everything that Marathon did... And even more astonishing, Jason Jones goes on record as saying that yes, he played that game when he was a youngster and he had always wanted to bring that experience to other players when he designed Marathon back in the early 90's. What do you honestly think the reaction on this board would be? - M |
