Are you kidding?
The brilliance of Marathon was as much in what was not said. It's not that the story is fleshed out - quite the opposite, in fact. What made Marathon great is that it left so many loose ends. By presenting tiny fragments of backstory - just enough to create the remnants of a defined universe, Bunggie left much to the imagination. That's why we're still discussing it after a decade.
