In Response To: ATTENTION: I'd like every scenario maker to read. (Todd) I guess I'd be the intended audience. I don't make maps, I don't have the time or resources to *effectively* contribute to new scenario creation. However, I still play Marathon. I play the odd scenario, and I read the Volunteers series with great interest and regularity. I watched a great many scenarios over the years start strong, develop a great webside, good screenshots, story, promises of updates, nearly ready to release, etcetc... and then nothing. The only major scenarios of all the ones I've been watching that have come to fruition (that I'm aware of) have been RED, and Rubicon. When your only reason to keep playing the game, really, in the hope of a new scenario... that gets discouraging. The danger here is that, as more time passes with nothing to show for it, more and more people give up and move on. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if a scenario is released an there's no one around to play it, damn, that sucks. |
