AI don't work. Remember, Durandal commented on Pfhor AI being, well, hideously obsolete in comparison to human efforts is a mild way to put it.

Tenth rate copies of Tycho were decades ahead of their best.

Makes me think the Hindmost is purely biological. My wager? Queen ant, or something like enough. Pfhor are insectoid, and that seems like a role where you'd have something both revered and insane with agony.
