Where I come from, it's apparently terribly impolite to ever even hint that you're better than anyone at anything ever. Sometimes it's even impolite to show that you're better just by doing our best. But with recent exposure to cultures that expect people to take pride in good work, we're now ashamed that we think it's impolite to brag, so we'd never tell anyone "stop bragging", we just go around and mutter "oh, that bragging guy, he thinks he's so good, oh man, I'm so Swedish for thinking this, I hope nobody finds out, man that guy annoys me".

All of this post is rhetorically exaggerated... But there is a grain of truth in it.

Also it doesn't seem to help RyokoTK at all =) But my point was that it's a cultural thing as well as an individual thing, how to properly handle one's own superiority. (Personally it's never been a problem for me, I don't think I'm very good at most things.)
