I've always felt that the developer of project has to be a good mapper himself, among many other things, to get the trust from specialized ppl to join him. I can get people to join me for example, but I doubt that would ever be possible if I hadn't made like 100+ maps. I think Fobo agree with me when I say, if you have great material - getting help is much easier.

I'd like to see some actual screenshots of shadow ingame, before I even start to think about joining. No screens - no soup for you!
