Thanks for your kind words, Steve. :) I don't really do much vidding anymore. It's not that I lost interest, but until you go through an exercise like that (trying to vid an entire scenario), you don't realize how time-consuming it really is and how much pressure it can put on you. I think I finally decided I didn't need that kind of pressure anymore. Of course, there haven't exactly been a whole lot of scenarios lately to vid anyway. :) As for all the saved games, that is pure "me". When I love a game, I take it to extremes. Many years ago, I decided to go through all the scenarios that were in existence at the time (or at least interested me), play them all as best I could without using ammo, and document it in whatever way I felt was best. I decided a saved game at the end of each level would be the best way. Now, you may be thinking "What about those levels where there are no PB's?". In that case, I did use a "save anywhere" cheat program, only for the purpose of having that documentation. If I died in the next level before reaching the first PB, then I played the level over again. (Pfhoraphobia, anyone?) Like I said, I take it to the extreme.
BTW, Marathon is not the only game where I am that obsessive. If any of you are RPG fans, in particular, the Dragon Warrior series, the work I put into documenting my play of those games far exceeds anything I have done with Marathon.
: Don't be so modest, John. Your skills are truly legendary. And how many
: people who read the forum have kept a saved game of every level of just
: about every scenario that's every been created? To many people here, you
: are THE vidmaster.
: Anyway, hope you feel better.
