Steve, reading the terminal is not necessary. I just now played the level on Kindergarten, grabbed the first chip and placed it in each of the two slots, to see if it made any difference which slot you start with. They inserted each time correctly. So, I have no idea what is causing your problem. Unless it's somehow related to playing on TC. I was using AO, so I don't think it's that. :(
