I don't see how a *good* movie would make Bungie a sellout. We were harping for years for them to PLEASE make a Marathon movie, and they said they only would if someone good enough to make it high-quality was interested.
If they get a good director/etc to make a good Halo movie, I don't see how that is selling out.
I'm realizing recently that it's not so much the change in Bungie staff I used to know, or the association with MS, that has made me shy away from the new Bungie community. It's not even, literally speaking, that they are "popular" and "mainstream". They stuff is still as good as it ever was.
It's just the hordes of clueless morons that I normally try to avoid in day-to-day life that have suddenly swarmed into the sacred halls of the new, expanded Church of Bungie, to worship next to us with their beer bongs and sports jerseys. I guess I'll just have to stick to my quiet little corner of the room - or, as I've taken to lately, just hang outside on the lawn and admire the pretty new architecture.
