Three eyes positioned in a triangle could deliver more accurate perception of depth. Us pinky bipeds grew up on big plains, where a third eye doesn't make sense on a horizontal plane. Three eyes could perhaps point to a more vertical original enviroment, coupled with low-gravity that could include some severe heights.

Spiders have a lot of eyes, some for day/night, some for movement detection, IR etc.

And then again, who says those are eyes. Perhaps they're olifactory-organs, for 'tasting/smelling' the enviroment. Or a balancing organ like the weird crystalthinghies in our inner-ear.

Well, if they had more bodyparts doubled yes, but I doubt this.
