Good point, but I don't believe that you start your "new life" immediately when the scenario starts; you've been playing the part of a normal marine for some time prior to that. The same cryo-tube device is used for healing in in 2 levels, so I think it's just meant to be a normal medical facility and I'm completely wrong about it being meant to be your quarters.
