In Response To: Holy Crap. (UnrealCh13f) For whatever reason, something about Eli's first guides posted on here irked me. I guess I didn't like how he divulged the secrets of some challenges (though there are few secrets left in Reach), and made certain other ones not challenging at all. But still, he provided good, positive commentary and seemed to be helping the community. As time went on though, it seemed his guides became more expositions for his 'skill'. Instead of 'see how to do this challenge' it became 'see how awesome I am at doing this challenge?'. Now that you've uncovered this, I'm rather aghast. It's selfish behavior like this that makes me want to forget about a game series that I've been playing for almost a decade now. The Halo series has brought me much joy, it's allowed me to meet some truly great people and have some really great times with them. But it's childish shit like this that makes me want to throw the game away. I don't understand how any person could cause such anguish and frustration to others purely for a bigger number and a stupid fucking picture next to their name. Is Eli or any other Banshee whore in it for anything else than that? I can't imagine so. Perhaps I just have some rose-tinted glasses on, but I feel like in games past people played largely for fun. And that was what Halo was for me. It was fun. Not some hyper-competitive shooter where winning is the only option and to hell with the human beings sitting at home just trying to enjoy themselves. I'm glad that there is such a thing as TrueSkill or whatever it's called so that I hopefully will never be matched against unfeeling airheads like Mr. Eli here, since his rank is undoubtedly overinflated - much like his ego.
