In Response To: Re: Doesn't make it any better. (General Battuta) : Tim Zahn is past his prime. Found you. It took, what, four posts mentioning Timothy Zahn to smoke you out.
After a while, I knew that I would only be able to find the person who made that post by mentioning 'Timothy Zahn' as often as possible.
So... now that I've found the guy who could give me answers, let's hear them, if you have them.
My current theory is that it was written for the Star Wars universe, with Han and Chewie as the main characters. There's certainly enough cantina scenes, but it still doesn't explain the ending. 2) You said his stuff post-IH was depressing. Having read Angelmass (Average), Survivor's Quest (Average, Bland) and Outbound Flight (Above Average) I'd agree that his writings since have not compared favorably to the Thrawn Trilogy and the Hand of Thrawn Duology (Just reread the first, halfway through the second, so I know that the nostalgia filter isn't at work.) Perhaps you could elucidate further? Out of curiosity, I checked around to see if Zahn had a biography or anything that would mention a breakdown around 1998. Nothing. As far as the internet goes, the guy is a frickin' ghost.
