When I think of Halo the first thing that comes to mind are Halo 1 LAN parties. Memorizing weapon spawns, backpack reloading, Warthog clipping, double melee... hours upon hours of soda, pizza, and Halo. I made a personal connection to Halo 1's MP (I even dreamed once that I saved this boat full of hostages because I won a Halo tournament with my awesome pistol skillz) so when I heard about this remake I was soooo excited that I was going to be able to share this with my current friends. Then I found out it was going to be on Reach instead. Reach MP? Does that mean that my sacred Halo 1 maps are going to be defiled by armor lock and bloom?? It's like Halo 1 MP is being punished by being put into Reach. Besides the new FF map, all of the good Halo 1 maps have already been Forged and put into the "Classic" playlist in Reach. They all play as correctly as Reach can handle. Spending real dev time to basically make the Forge remakes look "pretty" seems like a lot of wasted time. From what I've seen from videos, if I were to play the Campaign, I would definitely choose to use the old graphics. I know that the Halo 1 graphical choices were made because of the hardware limitations but I fell in love with it's simplistic design. All of these new nooks and crannies in the design are pointless. They add no function to the Halo installation and are distractions at best. Same with the new AR and the old AR. In my opinion the older one looks much better. It doesn't have all of these divits that dirt and junk could collect. It was cold, hard metal because it was a tool of death. I still have my old Halo 1 disk to play campaign with Halo 1 graphics. Anyone I would play online co-op with I could play offline co-op already. The Halo 1 maps have been successfully forged into Reach. What's left to justify the $40 price tag? A new FF map? Halo 1 MP created the console LAN party. Halo 1 MP made Halo the game to play. The M6D pistol is the backbone of Halo 1 MP. So therefore the M6D gets screwed out of every single other Halo game made to date? I just don't understand that when it's the perfect time to bring it back, you guys screw us out of it again. What did we do to deserve this?
