In Response To: weekly update HOT SEAT Q&A (sketchfactor) Sorry for the long questions, but feel free to answer these or not. Thanks for doing this! I look forward to your responses to other people's questions, and maybe even my own! 1) Might be spoilerish: I noticed for a long time there was a thread on Bungie.net with an idea of playable videos from marine cams, that we collect marine helmets and play their videos. Is there any sort of implementation of that? 2) Difficulty: When I heard about Elites wielding snipers, my heart fell a little. Will snipers be able to one-shot you like the infamous legendary difficulty of Halo 2? 3) Difficulty: When you get four players, you get ton more enemies, AI becomes stronger and more cunning. Is there a skull or an option to add this difficulty w/o having 4 players in for Mythic/SLASO (Solo Legendary All Skulls On) fans like me to get a kick out of the campaign? 4) How many easter eggs do you reckon you placed into Reach? Much larger than Halo 3? 5) Has there been any moment when you thought there was some feature people just put in for the heck of it, and it turned out to be really good to the community? Has anything in the campaign you thought was sub-par was embraced by the community to be universally enjoyable? 6) Any funny moments or shenanigans you would like to share? 7) Have you ever considered music when designing levels? Like let's make this awesome encounter even longer so that Marty can make the perfect score for this? Or don't worry if this battle seems bland, the sound guys will put in some orchestra and make this epic. Has the music in the campaign influenced your design? 8) Any tips on what it takes to be a campaign design lead? You need creativity, leadership, decision making? What do you think is most important out of all three (or besides these three)? 9) Spoilerish: Reach with its setting seems to have a less focus on lore or avenue for exciting backstory. Because in all previous Halo titles you explored an unexplored and uninhabited ring world. You would learn about this mysterious Forerunner race, the Flood, and deep Covenant lore and there was just more room to put all this interesting backstory into the game. How do you tackle this in campaign design and make Reach have just as much backstory as the other Halo games, maybe even more? 10) My birthday is on 7/7. Will that effect my chances at getting hired at Bungie? :) Happy Bungie Day, have a good development cycle, and here's hoping that you continue to kick ass on the way to World Domination! Hot dogs, barbeque and helpless catapult fodder will be on me.
