In Response To: Re: Update- *long* - *HGN SPOILERS* (NOMAD) Well, the Spartans are human yes, but its more than their mind that has got them out of trouble. John would have died several times over if not for his MJOLNIR armour which only the Spartan II's (and potentially III's) can apparently use, and that goes for all the other Spartan survivors of Reach. How to put it... it makes a nice message or moral, but it doesn't bear out if you look beyond it. A great deal of the Spartans success and survival has come from those changes which do make them different. To survive things a normal human simply couldn't. What it does do is define them as actually being people as opposed to unthinking machines. That they are still human and have personalities. But would they have survived without their augmentations and armour? Well, they wouldn't have survived Reach and John would not have survived the Flood (remember the infection form that actually does penetrate his armour. He only survives because of Cortana and his armours systems). So its a bit mixed really. Its the near perfect blend of Human and Technology which has made the Spartans successful instead of one or the other.
