This is one of the better arguments for Gravemind not being an AI.

One minor disagreement, though. I tend to think that the monitors are not rampant by definition because they are not smart AI. I could be wrong on this, but they seem extremely limited by their programming. THey may seem a little kooky by our standards ( the humming, talking to self) but that may just be the product of hardware or software degredation over long periods of time. They still act completely within their normal perameters - i.e. the flood gets loose, we need to fire the Halos.
