In Response To: putting my two cents in (Dirge) What I find facinating, and what relatively few people seem to have picked up on in any major way, is the startling similarity between human and Prophet blood colour. Bungie have long had a fancination with aliens with non-red blood colour and for most of the species the trend continues. Grunts are fluorecent light blue, Hunters are glowing orange, Jackals and Elites are blueish-purple, the Elites' being darker indicating a greater concentration of the blood chemical, meaning they can carry more oxygen in their blood and so can respire faster. The Brutes have black blood, or possibly excedingly dark blue. The Drones meanwhile have a beige ichor. BUT the Prophets blood is red, almost an identical shade to the Chief's (I bled a lot when fighting Regret on Legendary). That proves that they are oxygen-breathing creatures, that utilise haemoglobin to transport the oxygen around their bodies. This raises the possibility, though not the certainity of some joint ancestor. Note that I am not talking about a human-chimpanzee type of common ancestor, but more of a mammal-bird link, a distant ancestor, possibly one the Forerunners chose for unusual inteligence, and created a divergant pair of species that were accelarated, and because the humans are designated as the Reclaimers it is likely that the humans were the superior creation. Admittedly it could merely be evolutioary convergence, but uncertainty breeds knowledge, or maybe confusion. | |
