In Response To: ...and this time none of you will be left behind (Wado SG) Regarding this section:
Does this mean that the Prophets plan on inviting humanity along for the Great Journey? Yes and no. I think it's been fairly clearly established that Truth (and probably Mercy) didn't really believe in the Covenant religion, and have some plans of their own (Truth lets Mercy die because he knows too much, or something to that effect [Regret's demise could also have occurred under similar sentiments]). The Prophets absolutely despise humanity (for reasons unknown except to themselves) and would not be interested in letting them into "the Divine Beyond". The Prophets know what the Halos do and are willing to use them to get rid of humanity." I think the journey represents the transition that may be similar to other current religions. The Journey to the promised land where you will be granted 69 virgins and cold beer for ever. That sort of thing. In the same breath though; There is no reason for them not to take them with. If their religious beliefs aren't equal, then they will never go anywhere together upon destruction. The Covenant go to their happy place while humanity is left to rot elsewhere. I consider a suicide car bomber the same way. As they are instructed to believe that by doing the destructive deed, they will fulfill their destiny, and can go have their chicks and beer, while the enemy goes to Hell. Also, Even though there is a lot of talk regarding other prophets, Even after a search in the archives, I haven't seen too much about Prophet of Reconciliation. I mean hey, that ship was named after more than one guy.....
