well, considering that they'd already been fighting, an expenditure of ammo or fuel would necessitate a return, enemies in sight or not. 58's point is more problematic, but not impossible - we know that Longswords can handle fairly well (VTOL capacity, at least), that Cortana's effectively driving the Autumn, and that the ship probably has some magnetics involved in the docking system (i doubt the pelicans just hang there, but there doesn't seem to be any clamps either - the tail of the Pelican itself seems to carry vehicles with magnets as well). combine the factors, and a docking in two minutes doesn't seem IMPOSSIBLE. maybe this guy was just the best damn pilot in existence, or his computer and geometry skills are phenomenal. it's possible! really! >_> --dude1
