In Response To: Re: In Amber Clad loadout discussion (dude1) OK, i didnt even bother reading muchand i'm no expert on anything...but still. Consider this. You know that the story takes place 500 years from now. They have AI (cortana) which i recall from Halo 1 contains all of human history, every detail. Now looking back at halo 1 cutscenes, she fits on a small, very small, glassy disk thing. With that kind of technology, and colonization of a chunk of the galaxy, you'd think that by the year 25-whatever they would develope hardware to a similar level. And that it would have something like a fraction of cortana controlling each bit. In my mind that doesnt require much personnel. Hell, we have walking, almost thinking ROBOTS now, why cant they have maintainence robots? Or autopilot on the cruisers? They dont need to fill up that space with ship personnel, they can fill it with marines, and lots of them. By 2025 they population is projected to be over 9 billion, think for a moment about the total human population of Reach. Now think 1% of that. Thats a helluva lot of marines. Who really cares if a few die in a war so significant? Like i said, just a thought. |
