You can't say the Pelican can carry as much as you want it to, in Halo: The Flood, it states that carrying 15 marines was "overloading" the pelican and the pilots complained about the weight being too much. The Pelican can carry this much: 1 Warthog or Scorpion, 12-15 Marines, 2 Missle pods, 1 70mm Chaingun, and 6 weapon deploymant pods. Anything more than that would border on insane. Back to the topic of the IAC's cargo, it is safe to assume that IAC is roughly 1/2 the size of the POA. So, you can take the POA's cargo and divide it by 2. IAC has about 5-6 hangars which house 2 pelicans each = 10-12 ships. In the opening video of The POA in Halo, shows that the hangars also house 2 pelicans. The POA had about 10 of these, according to the books. There are 10 scorpions onboard the POA, so about 5 for the IAC. There are about 60 warthogs onboard the Pillar of Autumn, so about 30 makes sense for In Amber Clad. As for troops, there were about 1000 in Halo, and about 500 in Halo 2, so it makes near perfect sense for IAC's cargo to be half that of the POA's. |
