In Response To: Re: In Amber Clad loadout discussion (dude1) : the thing is, ships in the future shouldn't require much crew: maybe six
: --dude1 Your typical UNSC ship dosnt really seem that different than a modern naval ship. considering the 500m long supercarriers of today have 4000+ people id say your a bit off. Lets look at the airwing, planes arent simple things, they are each going to take at least 4 maintenece guys, and more likely about 8, plus we got armourers, engine techs, avionics techs, etc. This isnt startrek, things require maintenece and that were most of the complement comes from. IE a nimitz class permanantly has something like 120 damage controll personeel on standby at any time. so id say the PoA is simmialr in that respect. additionally the PoA prbly would have had like 50guys working in the reactor room at any one time. Theres also MAC technicians, archers are prbly wooden rounds though, but all those 50mm would take cleaning. And to add to this we gotta have cooks [though not many judging by the food dispensers], laundry, navigation and comms are prbly seperate to the bridge [see firing control on cairo station. Then theres armoueres, machinists, electricians, plumbers, doctors, the list goes on and on. |
