this is weird. it seems to be too neat to be coincidental... the chances of randomly picking 8 numbers 7 times such that the sum of the differences of the sucessive numbers adds to zero irregardless of order I'd think are pretty slim.
If so... it'd also be pretty dern hard to find numbers that did that AND corresponded to real world phenomena (like bus routes, for instance). Maybe the edge numbers are purely numerical after all.... then again this could just be some obscure math quirk fooling us all...
