I have noticed newer games tell you exactly where to go, and what to shoot, and aim for you, and highlight things in gold and tell you to press the action key when you're near them. They would never make you waste a precious moment of thought considering something as intellectually challenging as "if I step on the same teleporter, will I go to the same level again?"

Perhaps you would find them more to your liking!
