I am a little confused, you are saying a less savvy user who was using Hopper's plugin would break movie playback and net games, correct?

Regarding film playback, for Marathon via Aleph One, playing newly made films works now (of course), but unless the Marathon source code magically turns up, I can't imagine it will be possible to get old films made with the original Marathon to play under Aleph One, or am I being overly pessimistic? You would have to somehow faithfully recreate every bug and quirk of the original engine.
