Re: Flood Food

In Response To: Flood Food (Infantier)

1. Do flood actually eat?

Good question. They might just reproduce via infection form, inhabit hosts, and try to have new hosts by the time the first batch reach their "expiry date". In an evolutionary sense, though, this wouldn't be very practical. I always wondered why they "piled bodies" in the corners of the cruiser in Keyes. For nourishment perhaps? Spawining infection forms? Or do they wipe out species as they go, over consuming, then going dormant until they find new, disposable hosts?

2. Are flood food just transport or tools for flood to manipulate their

environment?

erm... no idea.

3. How long can an infected host remain useful?

I like the decay theory... but it is possible that they live quite a long time, especially if they do eat.

4. Are the other Halo’s arranged around a galaxy known to harbour the flood

in order to burn the firebreak if needed?

Apparently there are. Halo 2 rumors include comabt on another ring.

which leads to the inevitable question... why kill their food when you can (and do, by destroying halo) kill them. Ah, the ways of the forerunners are mysterious...

Damage, Unltd.
